Hematite

Hematite i the mineral form of iron oxide and the stone is colored black to steel or silver-gray, brown to reddish brown or red. The name is derived from the Greek word for blood, du to the red coloration found in some varieties. Hematite's popularity in jewelry was at its highest in Europe during the Victorian era.
